Established in January 2009, under the initiative of ACWA Power, a Strategic Partnership Agreement was signed with the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) to build a non-profit training institute specializing in international standards training for the water and energy industrial sectors.
The Higher Institute for Water and Power Technologies’ (HIWPT) training programs have evolved through direct collaboration with our industry partners to ensure that the training provided is highly relevant to the entry-level job description and that the skills and competencies of the graduates match the plant technician requirements.
Our focus is on the effective training of young Saudis in the fields of operations and maintenance, with disciplines in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Process Control, so that they have the necessary skills to continue developing within the organization. It is the first institute to provide solar technology training and other related technical courses.
Employees from Day One, all trainees at HIWPT are company employees from the date they join the Institute.
To be the preferred service provider for developing competent talent in the water, energy, and industrial sectors.
