The Higher Institute for Water and Power Technologies (HIWPT) and ENGIE company signed an agreement on August 21, 2022, to start training 15 young Saudi women from across the eastern and western regions in reverse osmosis (RO) technology in water desalination plants for a two-year period.
The agreement aims to transform the lives of talented young women by providing them with the skills and confidence they need to start a career in the technical fields, which men traditionally dominate.
“We will identify, motivate, and train 15 females as the initial batch of trainees and will also equip them with principles of working at water desalination plants,” said Muayed AlMadani, Business Development & Marketing Manager of HIWPT.
According to Mr. AlMadani, the female training-based employment is a very welcome initiative for both parties as it complements the Saudi Vision 2030 to empower young women through vocational skills and also marks a significant achievement for the HIWPT’s realigned strategic plan with the National Education Strategy for training and employment of women in technical fields.
On the other hand, ENGIE was really pleased with the training collaboration since it is a component of the company’s advocacy for encouraging gender parity in the workplace.
