The Higher Institute for Water and Power Technologies (HIWPT) is pleased to announce the achievement of ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS) certification.
Through positive employee engagement, team effort, and dedication, HIWPT received the accreditation for the new ISO 45001:2018 on November 8, 2022.
On March 12, 2021, ISO 45001 replaced OHSAS 18001:2007. The internationally recognized standard takes a more proactive, rather than reactive, approach to hazard control and will increase employee safety while reducing risk and improving well-being in the workplace.
By obtaining ISO 45001 certification, it demonstrates that the institute operates a best practice of OHSMS, reducing the likelihood of workplace hazards, promoting employee safety, and improving the organization’s overall performance.
“Achieving ISO 45001:2018 certification exemplifies our commitment to our employees, trainees, and sponsors by continuously evaluating and improving our safety processes to ensure we exceed the highest standards at the international level,” said Engr. Tariq AlShamrani, HIWPT Executive Managing Director.
“HIWPT owes this recognition to our employees. They are the ones who continue to push the organization forward with their participation, dedication, and commitment. They clearly want HIWPT to be more than just a regional class training institute, but also an organization role model, advocating for innovation in safety, sustainability, and quality.
HIWPT’s ISO 45001:2018 certification was issued by Active Business International, a highly respected registrar providing certification services for quality, environmental, and safety management systems.
