The Higher Institute for Water and Power Technologies (HIWPT) has signed on December 4, 2022 a joint cooperation agreement with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) to provide training and qualification services to the workers of its contractors.
Engr. Tariq AlShamrani, Executive Managing Director of HIWPT, and Engr. Ahmed Al-Aql, Head of the Human Resources Development Sector of SEC, signed the agreement during a ceremonial event with other training institutions that was hosted at the SEC headquarters in Riyadh.
Under the agreement, HIWPT will ensure that the workers of contracting firms who work on SEC projects receive training in both technical and administrative fields, including safety. The agreement also seeks to qualify workers as technicians in their particular areas in accordance with governmental requirements.
“HIWPT warmly welcomes this joint cooperation with SEC as it shows the intention of both parties to support the Kingdom in meeting the growing need for human capital in the power sectors, and we are honored that SEC partnered with us on this crucial initiative,” Engr. AlShamrani said on the occasion.
“We look forward to increasing our commitment and maintaining our valuable partnership as we pursue new prospects and initiatives in line with Vision 2030,” he concluded.
