The 23rd of September is always designated as Saudi Arabia’s National Day. It commemorates the date of September 23, 1932, when King Abdulaziz stated the country will be united as a kingdom and is known locally as Al-Yaom-ul-Watany.
As Saudi Arabia celebrates its 92nd National Day, the Higher Institute for Water and Power Technologies (HIWPT) has commemorated the day on September 26, 2022, by organizing a program and presentation activities at the newly renovated HIWPT Auditorium in Rabigh.
The celebration was highlighted by unity and the spirit of commemorating the prestigious occasion with the attendance of the honorable guest, His Excellency the Deputy Governor of Rabigh Governorate, Ismail Mohammad Barakah, under the patronage and on behalf of Rabigh Governor Khalid bin Mubaireek.
Also, present on the occasion were Mr. Thamer AlSharhan, Chairman of HIWPT, and distinguished guests from NOMAC headed by CEO Stefan Verlee.
The program was accompanied by the singing of the national anthem, traditional dances, and entertainment performances by selected trainees, followed by an awarding ceremony for exemplary HIWPT trainees and staff.
The theme for this year’s National Day is “Heya Lana Dar,” which means “This is Our Home.” Accordingly, this theme reflects that the great house is the homeland and all its children belong to it, and it is not just a homeland, but rather it is the sanctuary and housing that every citizen is looking for.
