The Higher Institute for Water and Power Technologies (HIWPT) participated on November 8-9, 2022, in the annual forum of the National Center for Strategic Partnerships Institutes at the National Industrial Training Institute in Al Ahsa, which was organized by the Colleges of Excellence (COE). The forum aimed at integrating and coordinating all of the Kingdom’s efforts with its national strategic training institutions to meet the labor market’s demands for qualified cadres in technical and vocational fields.
The HIWPT delegation, led by Mr. Sultan Kurdi, Finance Manager, on behalf of Executive Managing Director Tariq AlShamrani, took part in various sessions and workshops over the course of the two-day conference and offered a success story on the clean energy initiative.
As a noteworthy example of how the Saudi Green Initiative works to increase Saudi Arabia’s reliance on clean energy, offset emissions, and protect the environment in line with Vision 2030, Engr. Waseem AlZahrani of the HIWPT Training Department shared with the audience a successful story of the HIWPT project for an electric bike or e-bike project developed by trainees.
In addition, on the sidelines of the event, HIWPT held a signing ceremony for an employment-based training agreement with ACWA Power, while Jizan Integrated Gasification and Power Company (JIGPC) and the institute signed an agreement for a continuing partnership of Saudi youth training in operations and maintenance to support the development of the Saudi workforce required for the company’s plant activities.
The event concluded successfully, where strategic partners met to achieve unity and integration across institutes as well as through the learning experiences and advice of speakers and forum participants.
